Ginger Garlic Paste in jar

Ginger Garlic Paste

  • Author: Annika Ek
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 1 cup 1x

Description

Ginger and garlic are both nutritional superstars. Having a jar of Ginger Garlic Paste in the fridge gives weeknight meals a head start, and fills the kitchen with an appetizing aroma and the promise of a healthy and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 100 grams ginger root
  • 100 grams garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

1. Peel garlic cloves by trimming off the ends before removing the peel. In a mini-food processor or in a jar with an immersion blender, process garlic until roughly chopped. Let sit for 10 minutes to activate the allicin, garlic’s superpower.
2. Rinse and peel ginger. Use a spoon, peeler or paring knife, I like to use a grapefruit spoon. Cut the ginger into 1/2” | 1.5 cm pieces, add ginger to the garlic and process until combined.
3. Add avocado oil and apple cider vinegar and keep processing until a paste forms.
4. Transfer the paste to a clean glass jar with airtight lid and store in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Notes

TIP! The Ginger Garlic Paste can also be frozen in a silicone ice cube tray or spooned onto a baking tray covered with wax paper. Store in the freezer for up to 6 months.
